An ounce of action is worth a ton of theory

Many people have collected infinite wisdom that could never be used all in a single lifetime.

We read books, listen to podcasts, watch videos, attend conferences and seminars. Some absorb information through auditory senses, some script write notes, some type bullet lists.

And then what?

Most of what we absorb we keep in files, piles, and in the back pile for “someday”. That “someday” when we have time never seems to show up on the calendar.

Perhaps your best bet is not to do what everyone else does. We don’t need to worry about FOMO(Fear of missing out)

Instead of more, more, more.

Reduce

Eliminate

Strip down to the very basis of your core of who you want to be and what you want to do. You cannot do it all.

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. are three great environmental ideas, but also three great mindset ideas.

Read the books on your shelves you have not read yet before buying a new book……or throw them away.

Do something with those notes and handouts tomorrow…….or throw them away.

Because it is far more valuable and resourceful of your time to stop ADDING and begin SUBTRACTING so you have a narrowed goal and focus.

Once you do this, then you can move into action instead of hoarding hundreds of theories that just rest on your shelves, desk, and mind that do nothing but cause stress, the feeling of being overworked, not having enough time, and confused about what it is you are to do.

Saying no might be the hardest thing you say, but it also opens up so many opportunities to move into action and get something done instead of talking about wishing you had more time. More time is a theory that will never be a fact because we all have the same amount. Without a clear purpose and laser like focus, we just spin in endless circles getting frustrated.

What is your next step?

    1. You saw the work going into my journal as a waste or the opposite? Curious as I continue to work through being efficient and trying to be most effective of my time.
