Game Changer: GETTING IT DONE! Team and AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge

Alright, it is time for me to talk about the amazing team taking shape over in the Facebook world. It is a team I created based off my triathlon training motto this year called GETTING IT DONE!

This team is compromised of everyday individuals who are on the path to creating healthy positive habits in their daily lives. Many of us have tried several diets, training plans, exercise routines, etc. Like all of us we have hit the highs and lows.

I know that for me personally the most important factor to my first year in triathlon training was developing a network of people who could help me along my journey. I had experts in the tri sport to give guidance on strategy. I had a group who helped me get out of bed every weekend at 4:30 am to go run when it was cold and I just wanted to sleep. I had friends who I could talk about training. I had a group during the week who ran together to discuss life, sports, and whatever else was on our mind.

The point being is that I had people to help me when I did not know how to help myself.

This year I have personal goals of fitness and triathlon racing. You have goals about your races, life, exercise  What I want to do with this team is get everyone together who needs a team to help them along. No matter what your current fitness level, eating habits, and personal goals are we can help each other. It does not matter if you are training for a marathon or a Zombie run or simply just getting out to walk. As a team we will be here for each and everyone one of us. We all have a goal to get better.

GETTING IT DONE! will be a team where we can network. We can reach our for help when our eating goes astray. We can share recipes or tricks that work. We can hold each other accountable. We can offer motivation. We can do this together as one unit to help us reach our individual goals.

So, GETTING IT DONE! is forming as we speak. There are many people interested. Many are exploring and checking things out. It is time to take the plunge and commit.

To start things off we are going to start with the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge. This is a super easy, but highly effective system to cleanse the system and begin to form healthy habits. We will start this on January 7th. Many have used this system and the results don’t lie.

After the challenge will then move on to create our next goal(s) for the next month. We will take it step by step and in the end we will reach our goals.

So, I encourage you to check out the Facebook team page. Check out the links on my blog(many resources coming very shortly). I encourage you to make a statement in 2013 and get ready to create some healthy habits. When ready sign up on  the form and get your AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge bundle and be ready to join us on our path of AWESOMENESS!

We are less than one month away from getting ready to change our lives for the better. The official start date is going to be January 7th. This is a Monday and will give us time to get ready mentally for kicking some serious butt.

Here is the form. This makes it official and will let me know who is serious. I will be placing orders for AdvoCare by December 21st if you need to order.

In the meantime I have lots of things in the works. As always, let me know what you need. I am ready to get back to racing weight and working with others to reach their goals.

We grabbed our pumpkins yesterday from the pumpkin patch. I have a cool idea to make our pumpkins glow in the dark. In the meantime, I would love to see your pumpkin carvings. Send me a picture to my email at aarmau@gmail.com or amaurer@bettendorf.k12.ia.us and I will share them with everyone here on the blog.

I will be sharing our pumpkins as soon as we have time to carve!

GETTING IT DONE! Holding Myself Accountable This Week

This blog has been a great source of accountability over the last year or so.

I need to hold myself more accountable.

So here it is my accountability challenge for the week (Monday – Friday)

I am going to go five days with no junk food. Junk food includes candy, chips, pop(diet included), chocolate, and anything that would be deemed unhealthy.

I am not cutting back on food because that would be stupid with my training loads that I have been putting my body through. Rather, instead of having those 2-3 times during the day where I just unleash and wreak havoc on any food item in my kitchen I will eliminate this by choosing healthier options. Perhaps eating even more frequently might help these cravings. These food binges always occur around 2:30 – 3:00, 5:00 – 5:30, and 8:30 – 9:00.

I ate so terrible this weekend and a couple times during the past week. Yesterday I went all in just eating like complete crap one more day to remind myself how terrible you really feel when you inject your body with garbage. Trust me I felt horrible and I paid for it this morning in the pool when it felt like I was swimming with a cinder block in my gut.

I weighed in this morning just to see how my eating habits affected me and how eating healthy will affect my body after five days. I have to admit that I weigh the most I have weighed since July 2011. Not a good sign. I know most of this weight is probably water weight due to sodium and other junk.

There it is! Right here on this blog. I will update my progress in my training logs to keep me focused. It will be a tough challenge because I love food. I can do it! If I can push my body in training, then I can push my mind to not indulge. I am more interested in seeing how it affects my body during my training. Surely I will feel even better and recover better.

The challenge has started. GETTING IT DONE! just proved interesting.

Feel free to join in if you wish. Just a final reminder. This is not a diet. I am not eating less. I am just eating clean.

Be Spontaneous and Do Your Thing

This video reminded to make sure that you stay original, be yourself, and just enjoy life. Don’t get caught up in all the little dramas that surround us each day. Take a moment and embrace what we have while we have. If that means doing a little dance, then do a little dance.

Take a moment and Do Your Thing. Make a video of it and send me a link and I will post it here.

Coffee For The Brain November Calendar Images – Flickr Project

Alright people, I started this little Flickr project last week where anyone can submit images to my Flickr Group

I will be honest, I really thought this group would fill up with images. I know that many of you take pictures of nature, each other, cool things, quotes, sayings, etc.

So far, I have received zero. Maybe it is a bad project, but I really don’t think so. I have been gathering some images on my phone as well as gathering some motivational images from Pinterest to use to fill in the gaps. However, I would really like a calendar that is created by my fellow readers and students.

We have this week to submit some images for the November calendar. Don’t let me down. Submit some pictures. Otherwise I will create calendar, but it won’t be near as cool as one created by the masses.

Don’t worry, I am not quitting this idea. Once the November calendar is done, then we will move to December.

I look forward to your images.
