Half Marathon Training – Week 3 – Tuesday

Today I was scheduled a nice easy 4 mile run at a 10:30 pace. I sounding like a broken record as I ran much faster than that today. I ended up running 4.29 miles at a 8:21 pace. I felt really good after being pretty concerned about my knee yesterday. I woke up this morning and it felt fine which was a major relief. I decided to push a little bit more than usual as I have the Bix 7 race this Saturday. I want to really be able to take it easy the few days prior to the race, but I still want to keep my training regimine for the the half marathon. I finished the four miles and really liked how I felt which was not winded or sore. My upper body is sore from the circuit workout yesterday and I was able to shed about 1 more pound of weight from my weigh in last week. This puts right around the 224-225 mark. I would still like to shed a few more pounds as I feel that running is becoming much easier as I have lost some weight and gotten myself into better shape. The way I look at it is three weeks ago I would have been running with a 10lb weight in a backpack. I feel good with my results and how things are developing. I am ready to see how I do at the Bix. I feel prepared and want to do better than my last run there. I think I am ready, but time will tell. I will not be happy if there is not an improvement. Time to worry about that stuff later. Keep on trucking from the Nerd Factory.

Keep reaching for your goals and celebrate when you do. Remember the only person that can stop you is yourself. Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not in muscles.
