Training – Week 3 – Wednesday 4 Mile Run and 4 Mile on Bike and 100 Push-Up Workout

I woke up extra early this morning to avoid the heat. It did not matter as at 5 this morning it was already super hot with little air movement.

I rode my bike to the Y for 2 miles. I could tell that my legs were dead from yesterday. Between the first time riding a bike and running at a good rate yesterday I knew this was not going to be an easy day.

Finally made it to the Y and took off for a 4 mile easy run. My goal was to go much slower than what I did yesterday. You cannot push everyday even though I always want to.

I ran the 4 miles in 31:25 for a 7:50 pace which is 30 seconds slower than yesterday. My legs never got in a good place this morning. The whole run felt hard.

Mile 1: 8:12
Mile 2: 8:00
Mile 3: 7:44
Mile 4: 7:24

I rode home nice and easy except pushing on the hills until my quads burned. I hope this might help my running a little. Besides mowing the yard I will be taking it easy to let my legs recover.

This has been a good push so far this week. Adding the bike has created a whole new element to the training even if it is only 4 miles a day.

I also had to get in my 100 Push-Up Challenge Training this morning

Set 1: 13
Set 2: 15
Set 3: 11
Set 4: 11
Set 5: 15+ (I was able to do 25)
