196: Lydia Knab – Silent Witnesses: The Unseen Trackers of Our Digital Footprints

Crazy excited to share insights from a recent podcast episode I recorded with Lydia Knab who is a privacy officer with a passion for educating on privacy and ethics in the digital age. This episode opened my eyes into the nuances of privacy, its impact on society, and why it’s more than just a buzzword.

And to be honest how much I really don’t know about the world or privacy that I need to learn.

Lydia’s perspective on data bias, the illusion of privacy, and the ethical dilemmas we face in our tech-driven world is not only enlightening and challenging to how many of us think, but a call to action for all of us in the tech and legal sectors. As someone deeply involved in the intersection of technology and privacy, this conversation resonated with me on multiple levels.

One of several moments for me most was the discussion around “The Internet Never Forgets” and how our digital footprints impact not only our personal lives but the broader societal fabric. Lydia’s approach to looking at Harry Potter through a privacy lens was both unique and thought-provoking(yes, I want to do this as a book club conversation).

And with my recent post about being recorded without consent I had to move this podcast up as it was needed to help me process things and I hope it does for you as well.

Let’s start a dialogue on how we can integrate ethical considerations into our digital practices. How do you ensure privacy and ethics are at the forefront of your professional decisions?
