#25daysofmaking Project 3: Makedo Cardboard Christmas Tree 🎄

“Too much of our training is focused on solving known problems rather than imagining and exploring.” Joi Ito

Dear friends,

It is the weekend which is a perfect time for all of us to spend some time making. I find it to be a joy to break from bills, house projects, groceries, and thinking about work and just remembering the joys of making and creation.

Today we bring you project 3 which is a wonderful challenge to make a cardborad Christmas tree. Even if you don’t have Makedo I believe you can make this project. Nothing a little hot glue cannot handle!, Head on over to  Day 3 of 25 Days of Making, as we make a nice little holiday prop.

Create

Explore all the different ways this can be done. I made this project. While it is not perfect it is wonderful and I love it. I am working to add lights and hopefully some micro-controller to make it more engaging.

If you are not up for a Christmas tree, then be sure to check the other examples for ideas. There are so many possibilities and I know we all have cardboard sitting around!

Share

Add your project or any other projects you are working on through these options to share how you approached today’s challenge or the one from yesterday. Then, check out and comment on some other examples when they are shared.

Reflect

This element is important! Don’t neglect reflection on your own learning. We must be lifelong learners and be models to our students.

Take a moment to reflect on your creative process? Create a notebook, use a Google Doc, Evernote, Word Document….. What did you like most about your project? What would you do with it next, if you had more time? What are you planning to do?

Looking forward to hearing your adventures in making
