This year we are running year two of an authentic learning experience we tested out last year bundling standards of social studies, ELA, computer science, and Universal Constructs that turned out to be one of most powerful learning environments not just for students, but for us as educators as well.
If you want to see the projects from last year, then head here.
Like any idea you develop and create it is never completely finished. We are excited to undergo the journey again with new students and this time with several classrooms who have asked to join in on the journey.
Even more exciting is that part of the project is looking to the future utilizing the work of NASA and the Artemis project.
Even more exciting than that is the first launch is taking place in just a few short days. We will be able to experience in real time not only our own learning, but the learning of all mankind as we figure out how to live long term on the moon.
On August 29th, Artemis I will launch and what a powerful opportunity for all of us to experience history and utilize this moment in time to develop curiosity and begin to ignite spark into the project itselt as it begins to unfold come October.
I have put together a page on our soon to be project website that contains a flow of ideas and lessons and resources that you can use to connect this event to the work you are doing in your classroom to make it meaningful and relevant to what you have going on in your learning space.
Feel free to check it out here on this page
Please note a few things.
- The site overall is bare as the project has not yet begun, but will begin to be filled in over the next few weeks as the project draws closer to launch day.
- If you have any questions, then please feel free to reach out to me
- If you are interested in the project itself and joining, then also reach out to me.
- If you have a resource, activity, lesson, idea that is worth adding, then also reach out to me so I can add it to the page
I hope you enjoy. Please share any photos, videos, work, etc. that you do so we can add it to our website to curate examples of learning taking place. Together we can share positive stories of education.
See you on launch day!
