“One thing about trains: It doesn’t matter where they’re goin’. What matters is deciding to get on.”
-Polar Express
What another incredible day of builds. so many wonderful reindeer builds, a train, a tree, and several Santa Claus. Thanks to one classroom taking time to build we had 19 more builds. Be sure to check the Flipgrid pages for the ornaments because there are some great videos to check out. Explore Santa Claus, Train, and Mrs. Claus
This brings our total to 42 submitted ornaments which is bringing lots of joy to many people.
We also have 110 people signed up for the challenge which is even more exciting. So many people building, playing, and spreading joy to others.
If I have missed your ornament, then please let me know so I can feature here in the posts and the website!
I look forward to your train builds. I know there will be some incredible ones showing up today!
I have posted two train guides in case you need some inspiration.
And based off some requests of people in the challenge I have included a bonus build challenge. Challenge 26 is a free build. If you have an idea for an ornament not listed on the ornament menu you can still submit and be featured.
Four reminders and clarifications from the questions I have received as people get started.
- You can join in on the fun whenever you wish. It is not too late to join the building and sharing. If you want updates, there is a registration form to receive emails about this challenge.
- You can build any ornament and in any order you wish. I will promote one ornament idea each day, but you can build whatever one you want.
- You can build with any LEGO you have available. There is no wrong element or idea. The fact you are building is the real power in this challenge.
- How does one share their ornament?
- We have a Facebook Group for people to share builds and ideas. If the link does not work, then search for LEGO Ornament Challenge and it should pop up.
- You can email your builds aarmau (at) gmail (dot) com
- On the website for each build we also have a Flipgrid link so builders can share a video to either show all aspects, explain the build, or provide context to the ornament. We have two great Flipgrid examples for Santa already loaded from a classroom.
- If you are on Twitter, then you can share using #BuildToGive so LEGO can see your builds, but please include me @aaronmaureredu so I can see your build.
As you share, I will do my best to capture and document the builds so I can add them to the website so others can see your work. Let’s see what you create a train.
