Point of View Challenge

Every day in our elementary ELP(gifted and talented class) we start with a warm up of some sort to get their brains working and alert. The other day I gave the students the following challenge which comes from one of my favorite books of all time title, Caffeine For the Creative Mind: 250 Exercises to Wake Up Your Brain.

**I am condensing the instructions here**

I provided students a piece of paper with 9 triangles that were of the same size and evenly spaced apart. Students had to interpret the triangles from a different point of view by completing a drawing(s) using the triangles. They had to pick one of the following points of view although some went and created a pictures for each perspective as well.

1.A Mad Scientist

2. A Baseball Player

3. A Dancer

4. A School Bus Driver

5. A Mortician

6. A Street Cart Hot Dog Vendor

7. A Fish

8. A Lawyer

9. A Zookeeper

They had only a limited amount of time so they could not sit and ponder too long. Here are some of the pictures which I think are pretty good.

Give it try yourself. Create a sheet with 9 triangles and make a drawing and submit it to me and I will post it here on the blog.
