If you’re curious about how artificial intelligence (AI) and in particular tools like ChatGPT can enhance your work and learning, you might want to check out the recording of our recent workshop on ChatGPT, a powerful tool that can generate text and insightful information based on your prompts.
The workshop, hosted by Tammy Askeland-Nagle, Andrea Stewart, and myself, was a fun and interactive session that explored the basics of AI and how to practice writing and using prompts in ChatGPT, as well as some of the more advanced applications of ChatGPT, as participants engaged in small group conversations to push their new insights of these tools.
One of the most exciting parts of the workshop was the hands-on experience with ChatGPT, where participants got to see how it works and try their own prompts. ChatGPT is a language model that can produce text on almost any topic, given a suitable prompt. For example, you can ask it to write code, analyze data, summarize articles, create stories, or even compose lyrics. With over 20+ live participants everyone was involved and engaged. And we had over 100+ registered who are wanting the recording which is very exciting. The proof is in the recording. While the workshop was 90 minutes, only half was recorded as we were highly engaged in powerful breakout conversations and explorations.
But how do you write a good prompt? That’s where the workshop came in handy. The workshop shared some tips and tricks on how to craft effective prompts that can guide ChatGPT’s responses and improve the quality of the output. We all explored some examples of how ChatGPT can be used in different domains, such as education, research, and creative writing.
You can access the slides, resources, practice prompts, and more on the AI for Education website page.
Another interesting aspect of the workshop was the discussion on how AI can be integrated into the classroom. And not only for the classroom, but many walked away with new perspective of how they could use the tools for their own work.
The workshop was a great opportunity to learn more about the potential of AI and ChatGPT in education and beyond. The participants were encouraged to keep an open mind and embrace the possibilities that AI offers. While there are certainly challenges and ethical issues to be addressed, the benefits of AI in education are significant and worth exploring.
If you missed the workshop, don’t worry – you can watch the recording online(see above or website page). And if you want to dive deeper into the world of ChatGPT and AI, there are more workshops and resources coming up soon. There is a document on the website page for you share your insights and learning that can help us curate next steps of learning.
In the meantime, we invite you to check out the resources provided on the workshop website, including links to tools and articles on ChatGPT and AI in education. And who knows – you may just find yourself inspired to try your own prompts and generate some amazing content with ChatGPT!
And even more exciting is the The AI-Powered Workshop Anthem Challenge to particpate in to show off your learning!
