Sharing My Learing Journey At LCSD1 Innovate Conference

I am heading back to Wyoming for the LCSD1 Innovate Conference. I am beyond blessed to be asked to return to share all new sessions and keynote with some wonderful educators.

Like all of us in education, not matter our roles and experiences, this past school year provided lots of highs and lows.

I am excited to share all of my new learning. None of this makes me an expert, but one thing I have learned is the power of story and humaning pedagogy is more important than ever before.

Keynote

Agile and Scrum in Classroom

This workshop is designed to provide you with practical, hands-on training and coaching that will help you learn, plan, and implement Agile ways of learning and working in your classrooms.

You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on practice applying the mindset, techniques, and routines of an Agile Classroom. The workshop is collaborative, engaging, immersive, reflective, and above all, practical. You’ll leave with a newfound ability to power your classrooms with a culture of choice, collaboration, and adaptiveness to change.

Agile Scrum is a framework for managing and completing complex projects. It is based on the Agile Manifesto, which values individuals and interactions, working software, and customer collaboration over processes and tools. Scrum focuses on delivering working software in short sprints, usually 2-4 weeks, and emphasizes flexibility, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

We Are More Than Robots: Experiencing Design Thinking

In this session, you will explore how to use your unique human abilities to stand out and thrive in a world where artificial intelligence is becoming more prevalent. You will learn about the power of the design thinking framework. With its human-centered ethos and iterative approach, design thinking provides a robust toolkit to navigate teaching and learning in an AI-infused world. We will explore how design thinking can foster more dynamic, responsive, and engaging learning experiences that tap into your innate human capabilities. We will also work on practical exercises that will help you seamlessly incorporate the principles of design thinking into your educational space, ultimately empowering you and your students to thrive in this evolving AI landscape.

Sustaining Inquiry

In this session, we’ll explore strategies for keeping student inquiry alive throughout the duration of a project-based learning experience. We know that inquiry is at the heart of PBL, but it can be challenging to sustain it over time.

First, we’ll discuss how to create a culture of inquiry in your classroom. We’ll cover how to foster curiosity and encourage students to ask questions. We’ll also talk about how to create an environment where it’s safe to take risks and make mistakes.

Next, we’ll dive into specific strategies for sustaining inquiry during a project. We’ll explore how to structure the process of student voice and agency while aligning to the standards, how to facilitate student-led discussions, and how to use feedback to keep inquiry moving forward with both educators and expert voices

Beyond ChatGPT: Multimedia AI App Stacking Experience

The purpose of this session is to help you explore and discover the hundreds if not thousands of other tools besides ChatGPT that you might find useful in both your personal and professional life. We will examine tools that you have never heard of to how some of our most favorite tools are using AI to improve their product. This will be a fast-paced smackdown of tools to tinker around with and see what you might be missing out on in a blitz of fun.

AI For Education

The purpose of this session is to look at a few different ways and examples of using AI tools such as ChatGPT as a professional educator to help with planning instruction, ideas for handouts and other visuals, differentiation, correspondence, and assessment and feedback.
