I have been working hard the last month or so developing a new project for educators. I understand how hard it can be to create a global project while trying to establish your classroom routines, teach students, meet their individual needs, plan for your 159 meetings each week, answer email, attend PD, and more.

Sometimes we need the project to fall in our laps so we can do what we do best – TEACH!

I have tried to combine many concepts that have become passions of mine.

  • Hands on learning
  • Project based learning
  • Global Awareness
  • Sustainable Development Goals
  • Immersive Learning
  • LAUNCH Cycle Framework created by John Spencer and A.J. Juliani
  • Skype in the Classroom
  • Flipgrid

I am excited to announce and launch my latest project.

How can we reduce the amount of plastic being consumed by sea turtles?

The project focuses on helping students devise solutions to one of the biggest issues on our planet and that is plastic pollution. How can we play a part in reducing the amount of plastic polluting our earth?

The project will partner classrooms up from all over the world to share, collaborate, and help understand that regardless of where we live we all are facing similar issues AND we all can develop solutions to do our part for a cleaner planet.

The focus will be on creating local solutions for global change. We have some amazing experts that will join us to help provide authentic feedback and an authentic audience for the solutions students develop.

Registration opens today and will remain open through October. Over the next two months we will continue to unveil new exciting features on the site and coordinate schools for their partnerships. Today is just the start to some amazing opportunities coming down the pipeline.
