This idea has been stuck in my head for about a month.
Teachers need a Tinker Time block built into their schedule.
Just one period of the day where they are not allowed to
- grade papers
- lesson plan
- destress about students, life, school
- do paperwork
- attendance
- PD
- etc.
Instead during this time they enter an Innovative Studio, Tinker Lab, whatever you want to call it and just
- play
- color
- experiment
- engage in conversation about wild ideas
- design
- build
- draw
- brainstorm
- act like a child
I wonder what amazing things would develop if this was built into the day.
The next big WOW moment would be to add a time for students to do the same!
