#25daysofmaking Day 20 Gingerbread Man Challenge

“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.”—Maya Angelou

Dear all my picture book loving friends,

Welcome to day 20. Today we bring you the incredible Think, Make, Innovate team at Grant Wood AEA. These friends of mine are such great people to consider friends. They are constantly pushing the boundaries of learning and working to come up with great support and ideas for teachers.

I am so excited to share with you their project for the 25 days. This is one that uses a storyline we all know and love to develop some wide open making challenges that include design thinking, writing, creativity, collaboration, and of course making!

Create

The 20th project is a project that is so much fun! Read the story, listen to the story, heck even watch the story of the Gingerbread man. After some discussion about the story pose one or both problems:

1. Can you catch the Gingerbread Man?
2. Where did you catch the Gingerbread Man?

The beauty of this project is that you can use whatever tools you have access to. It is adaptable to any classroom situation from low tech to high tech. You make it work for you and your students.

For a tasty bonus, when you are done you could make your own Gingerbread Man cookies using the Day 8  challenge.

We hope you enjoy the 20th day of making project.

Share

Add your project or any other projects you are working on through these options to share how you approached today’s challenge or the one from yesterday. Then, check out and comment on some other examples when they are shared.

Besides using the hashtag #25daysofmaking on Instagram and Twitter I am also posting the projects over on Facebook so you can interact on this platform as well.

Finally, don’t forget to head over to Flipgrid and introduce yourself and/or your students!

Reflect

This element is important! Don’t neglect reflection on your own learning. We must be lifelong learners and be models to our students.

Take a moment to reflect on your creative process by sharing with the hashtags and other mediums. Let us start a conversation about this concept. How did remixing help you? What questions do you still have about remixing?
