Add this to the start of your instructions and discover the difference:

Take a deep breath and work on this problem step-by-step.

This technique produces much better results. Other effective prompts include:

  • Break this down.
  • Use arithmetic and logical thinking to solve this problem.
  • Combine numerical command and clear thinking to find the answer quickly and accurately.

Using any of these prompts is better than not using them. Remember, a LLM doesn’t require breathing or thinking to complete the task.
