Exploring the World of AI Video Creation: My Experiment with Creating a Convincing Fake Video of Myself

Hey there, friends!! I am here on a snow day where I had time to nerd out and I am so excited to share with you my recent experiment with creating a fake video of myself using artificial intelligence tools.

Artificial intelligence has been making waves quite a bit lately with ChatGPT, and I was curious to fully explore its potential in the realm of video creation. With the help of AI tools like ElevenLabs, D-ID, and ChatGPT, I set out to create a video of myself that looked convincingly real, even though it was entirely fake.

The process was a challenging one, but was a powerful learning experience. It was incredibly rewarding and really has be scratching my head with all the questions in my head. I started by training a clone of my voice of myself. The goal was to create a clone of my voice that would evolve to a video that looked like me.

Once I had the cloned audio of myself, I set to work creating the text. This involved using ChatGPT and a series of prompts in conversation(not a realy conversation) to use as the basis for the fake video narration, and then using the D-ID to bring it to life based on one image of myself. The process was fascinating, requiring a lot pausing to reflect on what this means not only for education, but for society.

The fake video of myself was startlingly realistic, even to my own eyes considering I paid zero money to put this together in a matter of a few hours. The AI had done an incredible job of capturing my features and movements, so much so that I found myself wondering whether it was really me on the screen(that might be a bit overboard as it was probably more excitement and mind blowing feeling of it working). Of course, there were some telltale signs that it was fake – the lighting wasn’t quite right, and some of the movements were a bit off – but overall, it was an impressive feat of artificial intelligence.

The potential applications for this technology are vast and varied. From Hollywood special effects now in our back pockets to political propaganda, the ability to create convincing fake videos has far-reaching implications. As with any technology, there are ethical and social implications to consider, but for now, I’m content to marvel at the technological wizardry that went into creating this fake video of myself. I also have some deep concerns.

In conclusion, my experiment with creating a fake video of myself using artificial intelligence tools was a fascinating and rewarding experience. It’s amazing to see how far AI has come in recent years, and I’m excited to see where it will go in the future. If you’re interested in experimenting with AI yourself, I highly recommend giving it a try – who knows what kind of amazing things you might create!
