Making a Plan to Plan

With anything in life we all try to set goals and live up to expectations. However, one thing we forget to do is to craft out time in our days and weeks to plan for the future.

I am thinking of my fitness goals. I think so much about right now that I forget to think long term about not burning out, avoiding injury, and creating habits that I can sustain for more than a few weeks when it comes to eating and diet.

I am thinking about project based learning in schools. We prepare for the launch and we are off and running. We become so entrenched in the daily chaos that we don’t take time to step back and plan for the future.

We must take time to stop and develop those checkpoints to plan for the future.

Planning for the future is hard. Surviving the day to day soaks up a lot of our time and energy. We must build these moments into our plans so we don’t lose sight of our goals.
