Time to take care of not only my mind, but my body and health

This website focuses on education and working through ideas, books, technologies, and various other platforms and people that can take you to the next level. The goal of this site is to bring real world talk. As Eric Thomas always says, “I’m gonna keep it 100”.

That is my motto for this new website and something I always try to live by. As I work through my big plans and visions for 2014 I realized that in order for others to be open and honest with me I need to be doing the same. I am always honest and open when it comes to education as that is something I am comfortable discussing. Through this journey I have neglected something very important to staying alive and being a great role model to my students and my own children. It is also a part of me that I am not always comfortable addressing.

I am talking about my fitness and health.

Just two years ago I was on top of the world with exercise, healthy eating, and a lifestyle that was on par to really allowing me do some great things in road races and triathlons. I had a vision and a why. I achieved my goal of completing two half Ironmans and working towards a full Ironman. I broke the 20 minutes barrier in a 5K and was toned and feeling good. Over time, due to setting concrete goals, I hit the goals and lost my mojo. I burned myself out. I lost my why and path.

Over the summer I had a health scare with my vision and my brain. From there I lost even more motivation to get healthy. My eating fell apart and I have rarely exercised since July.

This excuse making lifestyle stops today. I will be pushing hard this year in 2014 to get back on track. I need to be disciplined. In order for myself to be great in 2014 I have to take care of my body and health so I can push further than ever before with my mind.

I have created a page dedicated to Coffeechug Fitness where I will open up another chapter of my life and journey in 2014. I will be upfront and honest and expose myself and perhaps even at times embarrass myself.

But, hopefully by sharing my journey it will connect with others and open new channels of communication and ideas to strengthen the Coffeechug PLN. I hope you will join me in working to take care of your health so you can do great things with your life.

And with that I leave you with the following
