Calling all dreamers, builders, and LEGO lovers! I am embarking on an exhilarating adventure for local schools, crafting a LEGO Land of Wonder, and your creativity is your superhero that I would love to harness to help me craft and design a memorable experirence for students and schools. While I have ideas in my brainstorm notebook, I want to reach out to the genius of the community to gather more ideas before I begin to assemble the concept into action. Help me make these days of imaginative play full of incredible creations!
The Adventure Unfolds: I have been asked by schools to help design a LEGO build experience as part of a vibrant PBIS celebration day, where I will have each grade level and/or group of students come to participate in a roughly 30-minute session of LEGO magic.
My aim? To blend the spontaneity of imaginative play with a hint of structure, creating something truly memorable by the end of the day for the school to celebrate. I want more than just a free play experience.
The Centerpiece of Wonder: I am currently designing a grand concept of a LEGO canvas that will feature an extraordinary centerpiece – and here’s where your ideas come in!
I am currently thinking of:
- An Abstract Central Build For Open Interpretation: This could be anything from a whimsical castle to a mysterious alien creature. What would spark your imagination?
- Story Openers: Each session will kick off with a story opener to inspire our young builders. Think of tales of adventure, discovery, and magic.
Some Potential Builds In Contemplation:
- SPIKE Prime Mechanical Bird: In my LEGO SPIKe Prime book I created this mechanical bird. I was thinking of designing a story concept around this LEGO engineering build to spark something of intrigue for them to build around. But what story does it tell? Is it the last of its kind, searching for friends? Or maybe a wise guardian of our LEGO land?
- LEGO Mech Marvel Builds: Imagine a circle of awe-inspiring LEGO Marvel Mechs, each with its own backstory. Are they ancient protectors of the land, or friendly giants from different LEGO worlds?
Other Ideas of Consdieration to Spark Creativity:
- A Magic Garden with oversized LEGO flowers and creatures.
- The Lost City of Color, a vibrant LEGO metropolis.
- Space Adventure, featuring a LEGO space station or alien creatures.
- Time Travelers, with historical and futuristic LEGO scenes.
- The Underwater Kingdom, with mysterious sea creatures and coral reefs.
- An Enchanted Forest, filled with magical LEGO beings and landmarks.
For Educators and Students: Teachers, this is a fantastic opportunity to get your students involved! Brainstorm together and share their ideas – let’s make this a collective dream-building session. I would love to use ideas from students since this is who I will be working with in the future.
The Grand Finale: At day’s end, I envision having a magnificent LEGO creation, a collective masterpiece showcasing the wonderful ideas of all participants of their own unique builds, team builds, or add ons to previous builds throughout the day. This unique build, captured in photos and videos, will be a lasting tribute to our shared imagination.
How to Contribute: Please share your thoughts, sketches, and story ideas. Comment below, email, or even use social media to get your ideas to us. Every piece of imagination helps in building this Land of Wonder.
This day is more than just a play session; it’s a journey into the heart of creativity, where each brick contributes to a story of wonder and joy. Your ideas will help shape an unforgettable experience for young minds. Let’s build this dream together!
And yes, I will share the completed concept of what I design and organize as well as the results when they happen.
