3 throughts on "How to cut LEGO Baseplates for Classrooms"

  1. Actually if you are ordering plates from the Lego Online store you will see that a 32×32 baseplate is $10 but if you purchase a 16×16 plate part number 91405 from the Brick Replacement section of the site you can get them from $1.99 to $2.44 a plate depending on which colour you choose. Currently available in 8 colours.
Also a plate is thinker and sturdier than a baseplate without the issue of razor sharp corners and edges from cutting the baseplate plus you don’t have to chop up poor innocent baseplates!

Don’t use the Pick-a-brick section or you will see that the cost is considerably more per plate, I believe it was about $3.80 the last time I checked. Don’t ask me why the difference.

    1. Wow! I had no idea about all of this and this is so great to know! I appreciate you sharing this insight that I can pass on to teachers. I cut these plates as they were already purchased by a teacher so while I never want to cut any LEGO in this case it was what was needed. However, I will be sharing this little gem of insight from now on.
