LEGO Monthly Build Challenge – Mosaic Masterpiece

Mosaic Masterpiece Challenge

With school back in session it is time to bring back some fun build challenges for you to use with your students, your own children, after school programs, and anyone else who loves LEGO.

The challenge for the month of September is Mosaic Masterpiece.

This idea originated from the fact that I bought 1500 wrong LEGO pieces for an upcoming project I am working on. I figured I might as well turn a goof into an awesome moment of making!

You have two options(and a bonus) for your Mosaic Masterpiece

Option 1: Translucent Trio Challenge

I want to put these pieces to good use so I need your help. You can use this Google Sheets template that has cells formatted for you to design a mosaic for the baseplate I have ready to make a mosaic. I will attempt to make the mosaics submitted to share with you, the creator, and the world. You can also use http://stud.io which is a really cool online LEGO digital designer software tool that allows you to make LEGO designs with every piece available. For this project you will need to find the pieces and build using this software.

Option 2: Mosaic Masterpiece Challenge

For this one, you can make whatever mosaic design you want with your own LEGO collection. The only rule is that is needs to be made with LEGO. You choose the pieces, the colors, and the design. You can make it with the pieces you have or make it digitally using http://stud.io

Bonus Option: Mosaic Masterpiece Challenge in Minecraft

Make a mosaic design in Minecraft because Minecraft is awesome. This is just for fun. I had fun with a pixel project a few years ago
